Why?

Why can't God's plan be more evident? Why does it have to be such a slap in the face sometimes? Why can't it make more sense in the here and now? I wish my faith were stronger right now.

I read this in a lesson on Hagar a couple of days ago. This is in reference to her seeing the back of God as Moses did (you have to go back to the Hebrew for that one). I'm not sure if this applies or not but it is beautiful:

He sees when no one else cares to look. He sees throught the smile we wear when we're dying inside. He sees our hurt when we're mistreated. He sees us when we cry into our pillow because we feel unloved. He sees beyond our sin into the depth of our need. He sees when we're hiding. Running. He sees when we continue to sow the seed of His word even in the floodplain of our grief. Sometimes we don't realize we've encountered God until our vision clears. Maybe that's what seeing His back means. He is the God who sees you.
